On Labour Day weekend (2021), Rob and Nadine were on route to Boblo Island when his brother’s boat broke down. They ended up at Écarte Marina for repair, and then returned to Sarnia Bay, instead of carrying on their journey.

Some friends informed them that the marina was actually for sale, and on Sunday they returned to the marina to speak with Brad, the former owner. They got a walk-through of the property, and shortly thereafter they completed the deal, officially taking over the business on March 31st, 2022.

When asked how they were liking the transition so far, Rob said "love this place; love the town, love the atmosphere, people are awesome around here.”

Nadine mentioned some of the changes they had made so far; they cleaned the place up with some decluttering and fresh paint, put on a new deck, cut down a huge tree, and did some renovations to the upper level of the building, creating two one-bedroom rental units that can occupy four guests. They also now have transient docking.

The building - both inside and out, have undergone extensive renovations since taking over the old marina. We want to thank our loyal family of boaters that have supported us through this transition. As you probably have seen, Brad is still here every week - and we don't mind one bit.

He can often be found sharing a story, a laugh, or some knowledge. But, most likely, you'll find him extending a helping hand to visitors, guests, our staff and us, just like he did nearly his entire adult life!

The business may have sold, but it doesn't mean it doesn't feel like home to Brad. As for us? Our business is built on the backbone of decades of excellent service from him and his own family before him. We look forward to carrying on some of the traditions and creating an amazing place for you to stop and stay a while.
